Their society is caste-based, but a Packfang is not limited to the caste they were born into. Naming Conventions: Roman and Nordic First Names (e.g. Ragnar, Tesserar, Julius, Ida, Arturus, Ottar, Sigthar, Victus) OR! Words. Fatalis. Reaver. Flash. Surnames are their pack name. Packs function like platoons and are always named a word containing "star", "Moon" or "sun" (E.g. Blacksun, Bloodstar, Swiftmoon, redstar)
The crystal within a packfang's chest is known as the soulcryst. It provides help to resonate and amplify their powerful sonic attacks in the form of howling, barking and singing in combat. Spirituality
Some of their origin stories say their race come from a pack of wolf-like creatures that survived a massive meteor storm destroying their planet by catching the falling stars in their teeth and swallowing them or using their bodies as living shields to protect their young. Their deities are known as the Packmother and Packfather. Packmother is represented by the largest and hottest of their two suns and holds the energy of a mother's love for her children. Packfather is represented by their largest moon, who circles their homeplanet several times a day and holds the energy of a father, calmly but diligently protecting his wards. The stars in the sky are, in their oldest stories, the soulcrysts of fallen Packfangs returned to where they came from. Packfangs all know their stories are fictional, but they are still a source of spiritual tradition.
military Packfangs have mastered sonic resonance and regularly weaponize it. The crystals in their chest vibrate with their howls, which amplify the power to nearly explosive effect. A special military unit of the Legions is known as a Blood Howler, which uses berserking techniques, power armour with augmented claws and close-quarters sonic attacks. Blood Howlers are notoriously dangerous and have no fear of death. Blood Howlers are more commonly female. Packfangs with Headcrysts commonly excel at psionics. Weaponized Psionic Packfangs are called Moon Witches. Moon Witches are more commonly male.
